They talk about why it is so difficult for people to take personal responsibility for their own health and the dangers of “convenience culture”. This is a no-holds-barred conversation, with a lot of passion - these issues are vitally important and its going to take a lot of difficult discussions to bring about real change.

Action Plan

Your action plan this week is to take responsibility for your own health. I want you to identify the area of your health that is lacking the most. That could be sleep, nutrition, stress management or physical training. Piggy-backing off of my conversation with Mads Friis on Ep. 53 - I want you to write down the three biggest barriers to making positive changes to your chosen health metric and then I want you to make an Action Plan for taking steps toward improving your health. Maybe you do what Mads does and bring your gym bag to work to avoid the temptation of stopping at home and never going to the gym at all. Maybe you write down your grocery list instead of just shopping on a whim. Or maybe you set an alarm on your phone that tells you to PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY at 9:30pm so you can start winding down and improve your sleep quality and quantity. It doesn’t matter what you choose. Choose something, identify your obstacles and make a plan. You are your own best healthcare system and you only get one body and one life - so act accordingly.
